This role builds and manages internal controls for AbbVie Canada's pharmaceutical and aesthetics sectors. It promotes best practices, ensures compliance, improves financial processes, assesses risks, coordinates audits, and leads key financial projects. The role works closely with different teams and reports directly to the Controller of AbbVie Canada.

Responsibilities:

Develops Internal Control Mapping for Pharmaceutical and Aesthetics Businesses.
Highlights the awareness of internal controls within the various departments. Aligns with other Affiliates and implements Best-Practices of internal controls.
Coordinate initiatives to improve, simplify and optimize finance processes, identifying high, medium and low risk areas.
Manages end-to-end controls: from processes up to financial reconciliations
Is the “liaison” between the various cross-functional groups, businesses and Finance management to co-develop and implement the various projects and process improvements initiatives
Responsible for compliance monitoring
Serves as consultant for all policy relevant topics
Coordinates communication and change management for key projects impacting processes
Ensure buy-in from all impacted users and stakeholders from finance projects and process changes
Responsible for preparing and coordinating Internal Audits with all relevant stakeholders within the Affiliate and Shared Service Organization
Coordinate and lead projects in the finance organization including the successful implementation of new or optimized processes.
Manage one analyst

Qualifications

Requirements

University degree with at least 7 years of professional experience in Finance or Business Administration
CPA Certified
Significant experience in big four or internal controls in an international company – including practical experience of sox controls
Auditor background is a plus.
Shared service center is a plus.
Strong communication and stakeholder management
Able to drive change and motivate cross functional teams
Ability to move into different finance roles

This role is hybrid and requires 3 days minimum in office.

AbbVie aims to offer a French-speaking workplace in Quebec and has made efforts to limit English requirements. However, advanced English skills are essential for this role because the position involves working with English-speaking employees, clients, and regions outside Quebec.
