Tasks

Assign projects to subordinates and staff relating to employment, compensation, labour relations and employee relationsCoordinate the activities of the HR department in order to ensure they meet the organization's goals Plan, develop, implement and evaluate human resources policies and programsAdvise managers and employees on the interpretation of human resources policies, benefit programs and collective agreementsMediate labour disputes and grievancesPlan, develop and implement recruitment strategiesResearch and prepare occupational classifications, job descriptions and salary scalesAdminister benefit employment equity and other human resources programsManage contractsCo-ordinate employee performance and appraisal programsRespond to employee questions and complaintsNegotiate collective agreements on behalf of employers or workersOrganize staff consultation and grievance proceduresPropose improvements to methods, systems and procedures
