Tasks

Fly fixed wing aircrafts or helicoptersInstruct student pilots in procedures and techniques of flying aircraft and in ground-school subjects such as navigation, radio procedures and flying regulationsMonitor operation of engine and aircraft systems during flightPerform post-flight inspectionsRecord equipment malfunctions and corrective actions taken during flightReport required repairs to ground maintenance personnelTrain licenced pilots for additional certificationTest new aircraft to evaluate performanceTrain and prepare pilots for examinationCo-ordinate flight activities with ground crews and air-traffic control, inform crew members of flight and test procedures and direct activities of aircraft crew during flightsConduct in-flight tests and monitor functioning of aircraft equipment and systems during flightsContact control towers for takeoff clearances, arrival instructions and other informationMaintain communications with flight dispatchers and weather forecasters and respond to and report in-flight emergencies and malfunctionsPrepare flight evaluation reportsReview programs and policies to ensure conformance with regulationsProvide pilots with information essential to aviation safetyReview operational reports to assess compliance with software and hardware requirements
