Let’s help you launch your career with BVR Veterinary Supplies – a Division of AVL/Solvet! We are looking for an energetic and dedicated Compounding Assistant to join our team on-site in our Calgary facility working 40 hours/week (Monday - Friday).

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Lead RVT, the BVR Compounding Assistant is responsible for the compounding and packaging of veterinary pharmaceutical products.

DAY-TO-DAY

Assist in compounding, packaging, labelling, weighing, filling, capping and stacking of products following strict quality processes
Adhere to all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and company work instructions
Complete all required paperwork including logbooks, work orders and other required documents
Follow all company policies as described in the Employee Handbook
Follow all safety procedures, and assist in maintaining a safe workspace
Maintain a clean working area,
Cleaning of utensils, and routine cleaning and care of equipment
Some heavy lifting and repetitive movements
Ability to safely and responsibly work with hazardous chemicals in controlled environment
Other related duties as required

IDEAL FIT

Education & Experience

Veterinary Tech Assistant or Pharmacy Assistant education and background
Previous experience with sterile products or sterile (surgical) workspace will be considered an asset
Experience working in the medical or veterinary or pharmacy industry preferred.

Skills and Attributes

Great interpersonal and communication skills (high functioning level of English required)
Basic chemistry knowledge would be considered an asset
Reliable, punctual and thrives as part of a busy team
Strong attention to detail with a focus on lab cleanliness and sterility
Comfortable with multi-tasking and adaptable to changing priorities
Highly organized and able to multi-task effectively to prioritize tasks and meet daily deadlines
Pro-active in taking on daily tasks which may be repetitive
Confident in being able to work with the team to think through problems and troubleshoot for a positive outcome
Rigorously applies and follows rules, regulatory requirements, procedures and processes
Able to work both independently with minimal oversight and collaboratively as an integral part of the team
Consistently demonstrates initiative and willingness to go above and beyond
Able to remain calm under pressure
Enthusiastic and passionate, and takes pride in work accomplishments

REQUIREMENTS

Must be physically fit (may be required to lift up to 50 lbs/23 kgs) and stand for long periods of time
Criminal Record Check
Medical Clearance

WORKING CONDITIONS

On-site in SE Calgary
40 hours/week (Monday - Friday)
Evening Shift 2:30-11pm
Day Shift 8:00-4:30pm
