Summary

We are seeking a skilled Light Duty Mechanic to join our team in Fort McMurray. Based in, this role is vital in maintaining and repairing our vehicle fleet to uphold the company's standards of excellence. Your expertise will contribute directly to our mission of providing top-tier industrial solutions.

Position Summary

The Journeyman/Woman Mechanic will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of Coverall's fleet and equipment, including:

Ford trucks
Freightliner trucks
Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans
Skid steer equipment

The successful candidate will play a critical role in minimizing downtime, maintaining regulatory compliance, and ensuring our fleet operates safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing on all company vehicles and equipment.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, steering, suspension, brake, engine, transmission, and driveline issues.
Complete commercial vehicle inspections and ensure fleet compliance with applicable regulations.
Troubleshoot and repair diesel and gasoline-powered vehicles.
Respond promptly to vehicle and equipment breakdowns.
Maintain detailed maintenance records and complete work orders accurately.
Coordinate parts ordering and inventory while ensuring cost-effective repairs.
Identify potential issues before they become major repairs.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.
Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Work collaboratively with operations to schedule repairs and minimize service interruptions.
Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency fleet repairs, if required.

Minimum Requirements:

· Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic / Journeyman Auto mechanic

· Minimum of 1 years experience

· Alberta Full Class 5 driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract

· Provide annual tool allowance

· Experience with freightliner and ford engines

· Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals relating to manufacturer specifications and warranty details

· Working knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade

· Skilled in the operation of a variety of tools and equipment used in the repair of trucks and regular vehicles

· Capable of preparing and maintaining accurate records and reports

· Has a collaborative communication style at all levels of the organization demonstrating an open, honest and consistent approach to working with others

· Candidate will have to have own tools and will be given an annual tool allowance as well
