Dying With Dignity Canada is recruiting a short-term contract role to develop 1) a distribution strategy for an Advance Care Planning postcard reaching individual households in early 2025 and 2) a database of facilities including local libraries, community and seniors' centres, retirement communities, long term care homes and universities for outreach in 2025 and beyond.

Scope of Work

In April 2024, Dying With Dignity Canada released an updated and improved Advance Care Planning Kit. To engage new audiences, we have created an Advance Care Planning postcard with the intention of sending it by mail to individuals who may not have considered Advance Care Planning previously, in an effort to motivate them to download and complete an Advance Care Plan from Dying With Dignity Canada’s website.

As part of our continuing education efforts, we will also develop a postcard or brochure that can be distributed to local libraries, community and seniors’ centres, retirement communities, long term care homes and universities which would benefit from an Advance Care Planning presentation.

1. The person in this role will be tasked with identifying appropriate unaddressed admail destinations and developing a strategy for distributing the postcard through Canada Post. Priorities will include:

• Timeline for distribution

• Addresses and demographics for distribution

• Cost of distribution

• Anticipated return on investment (downloads over spend) This strategy will be implemented by Dying With Dignity Canada following the completion of this project.

2. The person in this role will also be tasked with researching and compiling a database of local libraries, community and seniors’ centres, retirement communities, long-term care homes and universities in identified geographic regions that will receive a postcard or brochure in 2025 or beyond.

This strategy will be implemented by Dying With Dignity Canada beginning in 2025.

Key Dates

We will take guidance from the successful candidate on the process and timeframe but ideally, we will be looking to have the strategy completed by December 31, 2024. Distribution will take place in early 2025 in advance of Advance Care Planning month in April.

Audience

Our audience is largely made up of 55-65+, who are supportive of medical assistance in dying and advocate for choice at end of life. While our existing audience is older, we want to attract and appeal to all people across Canada (18+), no matter their age or stage of health. Advance Care Planning is for everyone.

Hourly Wage: $22/hr
