G.L. Smith was founded in 1984 to offer modern, practical and striking interior design to retail clients. Today, were at the forefront of interior design and development, with roughly 100 full-time employees and growing!

Our roster of leading retailers spans a range of industries and includes some of Canadas biggest, most recognizable brands. We currently work on more than400 projects annually almost an average of one project each day of the year! Serving Canadas retail industry for more than three decades, we provide customized, cost-efficient interior design, engineering and expert project management capabilities.

What you bring to the table

Mechanical candidates should possess a degree or diploma from a recognized educational institution, as well as expertise in AutoCAD and related automation/design software applications. Experience with HVAC, plumbing, sprinkler layouts including heat gain/heat loss calculations, duct design, plumbing line sizing etc. Thorough knowledge of AutoCAD and design criteria.

For all candidates:

You are a team player with a creative, innovative spirit.

You are comfortable meeting tight timelines while still delivering strong quality work.

Experience in retail and food service design, including knowledge of building codes and accessibility standards, is an asset.

Any relevant professional accreditation, training or advanced education would be an asset.

You must have an aptitude for (and comfort level with) evolving technologies pertaining to retail design.

You need strong organizational skills, a high level of detail orientation, personal accountability and superior time management capability.
