Project Manager – Automation & Smart Manufacturing

Wage range based on experience

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in automation, smart manufacturing, and engineering project delivery. This role is responsible for overseeing end-to-end project lifecycle management, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget while maintaining high standards of quality assurance and risk management.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage project execution across all phases including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and delivery
Monitor and control project baselines, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, cost, and quality objectives
Conduct risk assessments and implement effective risk mitigation strategies
Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project charters, functional specifications, schedules, and safety documentation
Coordinate cross-functional teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure seamless project coordination
Manage project financials, including cash flow tracking, cost control, and change management
Oversee critical path activities and ensure timely completion of deliverables
Establish clear stakeholder communication channels and provide regular progress reporting to senior management
Ensure adherence to quality standards through quality planning, FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing), and SAT (Site Acceptance Testing)
Support installation and retrofit projects, ensuring proper supervision and execution
Collaborate with internal teams to optimize resource allocation across multiple projects
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction
Provide technical support for sales engineering, including scope development and project estimation

Qualifications & Requirements

Post-secondary diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Controls Engineering
Minimum 5+ years of project management experience in process automation or engineering solutions
Strong knowledge of PLC systems, robotics, and industrial instrumentation
Proficiency in project management software and tools
PMP certification is considered an asset
Professional designation (e.g., PEO) is an asset

Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage diverse teams
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments
Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems

Work Environment & Conditions

Hybrid work environment with required travel
Primarily office-based with occasional on-site project work
Ability to manage physical and technical project demands
