Job Description

We are seeking a Group Home Manager to become a part of our team! You will coordinate medical and health services in the group home for individuals with developmental disabilities.

Location: Kanata, Ontario
Start Date: March 15, 2026
Term/Status: Permanent Full Time
Schedule/Hours: Mon 08:00-15:30, Tues 08:00-15:30, Wed 09:00-16:30, Thurs 10:00-17:30, Fri 09:00-16:30 Total - 37.5 hours per week

The Role:

The Manager ensures the group home setting provides a home-like, comfortable living space and opportunities for individuals to develop life skills to their desire and potential.

Responsibilities:

Oversee medical and health service activities and personnel
Plan and coordinate health services
Work collaboratively with physicians to implement appropriate day to day healthcare programs
Maintain a clean environment to ensure patient safety
Establish and enforce healthcare policies and procedures

Qualifications:

Degree or Diploma in Social Sciences, Social Services, or related field and/or degree/diploma in working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
2 years of experience in a residential setting, 3 years of experience in adult disabilities training
1 year of supervisor experience.
Ability to work under pressure and strict deadlines.
Must be able to perform lifts and transfers of 40lbs.
Experience working in Geriatric care and knowledge of Dementia an asset
Positive behaviour support training preferred
Criminal/Vulnerable Record Clearance
Medical Clearance
TB Test Clearance
Satisfactory Driver’s Abstract
Class 5 Driver’s License
Willingness to obtain an Unrestricted Class 4 Driver’s License during probation period
Valid First Aid/CPR
Non-violent Crisis Intervention Certification
Excellent written and verbal communication (bilingualism an asset)
Basic computer literacy - making reports, sending emails, etc.
