About the Role

The Room Attendant is responsible for cleaning and preparing guest rooms to motel standards. This role plays an important part in creating a clean, comfortable, and welcoming experience for every guest. The Room Attendant works efficiently, follows established cleaning and safety procedures, and demonstrates strong attention to detail and teamwork.

What You’ll Do

Clean and prepare guest rooms to motel standards, including making beds, changing linens, replenishing towels and amenities, vacuuming, dusting, sanitizing surfaces, and cleaning bathrooms.
Ensure guest rooms meet established cleanliness, presentation, quality, and safety standards.
Stock and organize housekeeping carts with the supplies and equipment required for each shift.
Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests while respecting guest privacy and confidentiality.
Report lost and found items, maintenance concerns, safety hazards, property damage, and equipment issues in accordance with motel procedures.
Clean, disinfect, and properly store housekeeping tools and equipment at the end of each shift.
Monitor housekeeping inventory and communicate supply needs to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
Complete assigned deep-cleaning tasks and assist with special housekeeping projects as required.
Assist with laundry duties, including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens when required.
Respond to housekeeping concerns, including spills, broken glass, and other cleaning requests.
Follow motel policies, safe work practices, chemical-handling procedures, and sanitation standards.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support operational needs.

What We’re Looking For

Previous housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience is preferred; motel experience is considered an asset.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness and presentation standards.
Able to work efficiently and independently with minimal supervision.
Able to contribute to a collaborative and respectful team environment.
Dependable, organized, and able to manage repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Able to communicate effectively and understand workplace instructions in English.
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada and able to work in Kamloops, BC.

Working Conditions

Fast-paced hospitality environment.
Flexible schedule required, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and repetitive movement throughout the shift.
Regular use of cleaning products, equipment, and commercial laundry facilities.

Physical Requirements

Ability to push, pull, reach, bend, stoop, kneel, and frequently lift up to 25 pounds.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to perform repetitive and physically demanding housekeeping tasks throughout the shift.
