Kaks bar and podcast is looks for cooks with experience in the kitchen cooks.

SUMMARY

To prepare and cook food in a manner that will ensure a quality appearance and taste and prepare meals as promptly as possible. To consistently maintain a clean and well-organized kitchen at all times. To perform all duties in compliance with safety standards, health standards and the Alberta Gaming, Liquor, and Cannabis Commission (AGLC).

Candidate must possess strong:

Ability to carry out responsibilities with limited supervision

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Within the realm of the responsibility of the job, maintains a clean and safe work environment. Performs duties in compliance with safety procedures, which includes the use of safety equipment. Incumbents are responsible for following safety procedures, identifying unsafe practices or conditions and informing their supervisor of unsafe conditions, as directed.
Prepares and cooks food in a manner which will ensure a quality appearance and taste, and to prepare meals as promptly as possible.
Cooks food items by grilling, frying, sautéing, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards.
Ensures that food orders are prepared promptly for the Food and Beverage staff to be delivered to patrons quickly and efficiently.
Acts to consistently always maintain a clean and well-organized kitchen.
Develops, maintains and enhances positive relations with all customers and team members.
Wears and maintains all uniforms properly.
Alerts supervisor of any concerns regarding the quality, selection and variety of all food and beverages.
Complies with established security policies and procedures.
Receives training, technical direction and guidance from the supervisor and management team.
Performs other duties, including special projects, as needed and directed.
Reports to work as scheduled, on time, and ready to work.
Other duties as assigned including: Performs side duties, cleaning of the line, restocking shelves and coolers, using cleaning compounds. Also performs other side duties that include performing cooler and hot table temperature checks, cleaning of coolers, taking out trash bags, answering the telephone, training other line cooks, handling cleaning compounds and chemicals, and other duties as require
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to demonstrate effective and diplomatic oral and written communication skills using English

Company Description

Kaks Bar and Podcast is an upcoming Bar and Restaurant located in the beltline of downtown Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Right underneath the Upten Condo Building and right beside the amazing Van Gogh statue, 201 10 Ave SE. The founders Kass and Shawn, will be combining their love of the Bar industry and Podcasting by having their podcast studio inside the bar itself. Tune into their show out of their temporary studio weekly as they talk to local Calgarians about anything and everything!
