Read blueprints to determine work requirements Test and observe electrical and mechanical conditions of equipmentTroubleshoot and repair electric motors, transformers, switchgear, generators and other electro-mechanical equipmentUse machining tools to fabricate or recondition partsReplace or recondition shafts, bearings, commutators and other componentsWind, assemble and install various types of coilsPerform static or dynamic balancing of armatures or rotorsPerform some machining to recondition or modify shafts, commutators or other partsPerform on-site servicing and repairTest and repair or replace faulty wiring or components in electrical switchgearTest repaired motors, transformers, switchgear or other electrical apparatus to ensure proper performance
