Position Overview

The Excavator Operator for Western Canada is responsible for operating heavy excavating equipment to execute earthworks projects across various locations in the region at Professional Excavators & Construction Inc. This role involves ensuring safety, precision, and efficiency in all excavation activities while adhering to company standards and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

Operate excavators and other heavy machinery efficiently to complete excavation tasks for diverse construction projects across Western Canada
Perform pre-operation inspections on equipment to ensure optimal performance and report any issues to the site supervisor
Excavate trenches, foundations, and other earthworks in accordance with project plans and specifications
Coordinate with team members to ensure smooth operation and adherence to safety protocols
Maintain accurate records of work performed and machinery usage
Follow safety regulations and promote a safe work environment for yourself and fellow workers
Assist with loading and unloading materials and ensuring the worksite is kept clean and organized

Requirements

Successful completion of Alcohol and Drug Screening
Willingness to travel to different job sites across Western Canada as required
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience operating excavators in a construction-related setting
Strong knowledge of excavation practices, safety protocols, and regulations
Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications
Valid Heavy Equipment Operator License and relevant certifications are considered an asset
Physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
