Legal Assistant – Family Law (Calgary, AB)

REAL-R is looking for a Legal Assistant supporting a reputable small family law firm in Calgary. We are seeking a dedicated professional with 1 to 3 years’ experience in family law to provide compassionate, detail-oriented assistance to our clients and lawyers.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and format legal correspondence, disclosure packages, affidavits, and court forms
Manage file organization, deadlines, and document tracking
Communicate professionally and empathetically with clients, courts, and counsel
Schedule meetings, court dates, mediations, and client appointments
Assist with billing, file management, and general office administration
Proofread documents and correspondence to ensure accuracy and compliance
Maintain confidentiality and a respectful workplace at all times

Required Skills and Experience:

1–3 years’ experience as a Legal Assistant in family law
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail, professionalism, and discretion
Proven ability to manage stressful situations and support clients in distress
Time management and multi-tasking skills; ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat (PDF)
Reliable and willing to learn new skills in a fast-paced environment
