We support Indigenous Nations with technical guidance, regulatory advice, peer reviews, planning, and negotiation strategies related to major resource development projects. Core Qualifications and Experience:

4-6 years of professional experience in a social research position, or related field
Undergraduate or graduate degree in social sciences (e.g. anthropology, human geography, sociology) or related field, or comparable practical experience
Experience with qualitative and quantitative research design, implementation, analysis and reporting; experience with Traditional Use / Indigenous Knowledge studies specifically is an asset.
Experience with desktop research/literature reviews/ jurisdictional scans / annotated bibliographies or similar.
UnderstandingofIndigenous Knowledge Studies, Socio-Economic Impact Assessments, Community Well-beingStudiesand otherresearch used to inform Impact Assessmentprocesses in Canada
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word).
Demonstrated experience working with Indigenous Nations in Canada, with knowledge of Indigenous and environmental issues in Canada.
Experience developing and managing research Project budgets.
Excellent project management skills, capable of managing multiple priorities in a fastpaced environment.
Exceptional communication, organization, and attention to detail.
Collaborative team member who takes initiative and meets deadlines.
Willingness to travel across Canada, including to northern and remote communities and to workoccasional overtimehoursduring work trips.

Asset Qualifications and Experience:

Understanding ofthe role of Indigenous communities inregulatory processesand major development project partnershipsin Canada.
Experience withIndigenous law and governance, UNDRIP, FPIC, shared decision-making.
Awareness of data and communication security and confidentiality.
Proficiency with ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online including data preparation, spatial analysis and map production.
Experience developing web maps, surveys and applications using ESRI tools such as Survey123, Dashboards and Experience Builder
Experience with community economic development, conflict resolution, negotiations, capacity building / training, technical reviews, and multimedia story-telling.

Responsibilities:

Uphold organizational methodologies, research design standards, and best practices to support the development and delivery of social research studies (e.g., land use and occupancy research / Indigenous Knowledge studies, socioeconomic impact assessments) using ethical, respectful, and culturally appropriate approaches.
Conduct primary research activities, including interviews, surveys, and focus groups, ensuring high-quality data collection.
Integrate qualitative and quantitative social research findings with geospatial analysis to inform evidencebased decision-making.
Adhere to data privacy, governance, and ethical standards, including OCAP/OCAS, PIPA, informed consent procedures, and clientspecific protocols.
Apply knowledge of Canadian impact assessment frameworks and regulatory processes to support client objectives.
Potentially deliver and support training and capacitybuilding initiatives related to social research methodologies and conducting social research studies.
Prepare clear, concise reports and presentations that translate technical and research insights into plain-language narratives for diverse audiences.
Oversee project plans, timelines, and budgets while maintaining clear communication with clients and internal teams.
Coordinate interdisciplinary teams, manage risks, and ensure transparency throughout the project lifecycle.
Balance multiple concurrent projects, meeting deadlines, quality standards, and budget requirements.
Build strong working relationships with Indigenous community clients, regulators, and project proponents.
Strengthen client relationships and support continuous improvement by understanding client needs and priorities.

Our head office is based in Guelph, Ont. on the traditional territory of the Attawandaron and within the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. Their office also sits within the lands of the Between the Lakes Treaty #3 (1792) and the Nanfan Treaty (1701) and is close to the Haldimand Tract. They are located within the Grand River Watershed which is shared with the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, the Six Nations of the Grand River, and the Saugeen Ojibway Nation.
