Legal Assistant

Our client, a well established boutique law firm that specializes in Litigation, Corporate and Commercial Law, is in search of a Legal Assistant to join their team. Located in downtown Toronto, this client-service focused firm provides expert advice to a wide variety of clients.

Please note this role is an in office position 5 days per week.

The Opportunity

The Legal Assistant will be responsible for supporting the the firm's partners and other members of the support team in addition to these day to day responsibilities:

Opening and closing files
Issuing and filing documents in the court portal
Keeping files up to date
Staying organized and up to date with timelines
Communicating with clients, opposing, counsel, mediators, arbitrators, and courts to canvas availability and schedule examinations and hearings
General administrative support

Qualifications and Experience

2-4 years' relevant experience as a legal assistant with a preference to experience in Commercial and Corporate Litigation
Successful completion of a post-secondary legal administrative program or equivalent
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Team player with a professional manner
Ability to adjust to changing priorities
Ability to meet strict deadlines
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
Proficient in Case Centre, PC Law and Microsoft Office Suite

Compensation

Salary range of $55k-65k, health spending account and vacation
