The Role

Reporting into the Chief Product & Technology Officer, we're seeking Backend Engineers to lead the creation of scalable, intelligent infrastructure from the ground up. In this role, you'll shape how our platform operates, integrates, and scales, combining robust backend services, enterprise integrations, and AI-powered capabilities. This is an opportunity to build at 0-to-1 scale, applying deep expertise across the full backend stack to deliver secure, reliable, and future-ready systems that drive innovation. You'll work directly with our principle architect & engineer, data engineer, frontend engineer, and product/design team as founding technical leaders.

You'll contribute to:

Integrations & Data Pipelines: Build connectors to enterprise software, design data migration and ingestion systems
Platform: Security, SOC 2 compliance, multi-tenant architecture, observability, performance at scale
Core Services: Processing, storage, versioning. Build backend services powering user-facing features
Infrastructure: AWS ops (ECS, Aurora, S3), CI/CD, monitoring, production reliability

This is a generalist role, you'll flex across domains based on priorities, not stay in a silo.

What We're Looking For

Must Have:

5+ years backend experience, including 2+ years at early-stage startup (0-to-1 experience)
Production systems experience at scale, you know what "production-ready" means
Product sense, you understand why we build and can influence what we build
Ownership mindset, you've led initiatives end-to-end
Strong fundamentals: APIs, databases, distributed systems, security, cloud

Technical:

Python, TypeScript/Node.js, or similar
PostgreSQL and query optimization
AWS (ECS, Lambda, RDS, S3, CloudWatch)
API design, authentication (OAuth, JWT)
Observability and monitoring
Security best practices, compliance frameworks

Bonus:

B2B SaaS or enterprise software experience
AI/ML applications or knowledge management systems
Migration tools or data import/integration systems
