Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipmentRead and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processesOperate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipmentOperate brakes, shears and other metal shaping, straightening and bending machinesOperate previously set-up brazing or soldering machines to bond metal or to fill holes, indentations and seams of metalMaintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing and soldering equipment

Support for newcomers and refugees

Recruits newcomers and/or refugees who were displaced by a conflict or a natural disaster (for example: Ukraine, Afghanistan, etc.) Supports newcomers and/or refugees with foreign credential recognitionOffers mentorship programs that pair newcomers and/or refugees with experienced employees Provides diversity and cross-cultural trainings to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and/or refugees Does not require Canadian work experience

Support for Indigenous people

Offers mentorship, coaching and/or networking opportunities for Indigenous workers Develops and maintains relationships with indigenous communities, indigenous-owned businesses and organizations Provides cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers Facilitates access to Elders who can offer support and guidance to Indigenous workers
