Senior Data Engineer (Scala / Spark / AWS)
Location: Canada (Remote)

Opensignal is hiring a Senior Data Engineer to design and build large-scale distributed data systems that power real-world telecom insights used by global carriers and technology leaders.

If you’re strong in Scala, Spark, and AWS architecture, and want to work on massive datasets at global scale—this is the role for you.

What You’ll Do

Architect & optimize high-volume Spark pipelines (Scala + Python)
Build scalable data infrastructure across AWS (S3, EMR, Athena, Redshift)
Develop new data products with engineering & data science
Ensure data reliability, quality, and performance across distributed systems
Lead technical decision-making and mentor other engineers

What You Bring

5+ years data engineering experience
Strong Scala + Spark expertise
Deep AWS experience (S3, EMR, EC2, IAM, Redshift, Athena)
Strong SQL + Python
Experience designing distributed systems & data architectures
Based in Canada

Nice to Have

AWS Solution Architect experience
Airflow
Advanced clustering / ML pipeline experience
