The role

The ideal Sr. Project Manager is innovative, working as a servant leader to their team, leading them through scope refinement, planning, and delivery. Focused on facilitating the successful delivery of CMS Platform experiences that serve the needs of authors and end users. Working closely with client stakeholders, business users, and cross-functional delivery teams over the lifecycle of a project to gather and document solution requirements and to drive solution design in partnership with product ownership, UX design, and technical leadership. This role manages in partnership with the client's product ownership.

Role responsibilities

Manage CMS Platform projects from UXR through Design and Build

Serve as an expert in the functional use of the client’s chosen CMS platform

Understand the CMS Platform and lead with platform knowledge, driving UI / UX best commerce experience.

Driving system demonstrations and training to client business users.

Facilitating all necessary team meetings (sprint planning, daily standups, sprint reviews/retrospectives, etc.)

Facilitating Agile release planning and helping the PO manage the release backlog.

Coaching the team in Agile relative estimation techniques, cross-functionality, and self-organization

Identifying, managing, and mitigating project issues and risks

Supporting and educating the Product Owner, especially with respect to defining and prioritizing the product backlog

Ensuring transparency into the team’s work through the Sprint Backlog, Burndown Chart, and other Agile metrics

Leading by example - knowing when, and how, to push for more results

Proactively identifying and removing impediments that interfere with the ability of the team to deliver Sprint commitments

Being the coach and all-around advocate for Agile delivery methodology amongst the project team and client stakeholders

Influencing software development lifecycles (plan, design, development, testing, and deployment) and working with both the business and technology teams

Facilitating necessary team meetings, including Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Sprint Reviews & Retrospectives, along with ensuring effective backlog refinement

Conducting business analysis and translating business requirements to customer experience and development needs

Building roadmaps and advising clients on future strategies and execution

Providing recommendations catered to client industries and their customers

Musthavequalifications

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential qualifications:

10+ years of experience in a delivery lead role within a software development Agile environment, product experience is a plus

5+ years of experience with a Content Management System; Optimizely, Contentful, etc.

Experience leading a global Agile team of 8+ developers and designers to develop the client’s prioritized features, with the product owner's responsibility of feature sign-off and approval

Demonstrated success in iterative release of software systems

Demonstrated experience implementing AI on delivery software solutions

Experience managing project budgets of $5 million+

Deep understanding of empirical data needed for stakeholder reporting and team measurement.

Proven ability to manage budget, forecast, margin, and utilization of the project team in a Fixed Fee or Time & Material setting

Experience working with Rally/Jira or a similar project management software

Nicetohavequalifications

Optimizely Opal Certification or project experience in Content management/commerce systems

Knowledge of traditional SDLC

Prior experience in the Financial Services industry

Proven ability to bring transparency to the business team about development, growing trust while demonstrating your commitment to deliverables to the business team.

Experience with identifying delivery issues and risks, and a sense of urgency for removing blocks and driving continuous improvement

PMP & CSM or other Agile certifications

The benefits

This is a full-time employment position based in Canada. The offered salary range is CAD $89,000 to $120,000 annually, depending on experience and location.

Valtech offers a comprehensive benefits package effective after three months of continuous service:

A comprehensive insurance plan, where you can choose the module that best suits your needs—Gold, Silver, or Bronze. The employer may contribute up to 80% of your coverage, depending on the selected module. This plan includes short- and long-term disability coverage.
