Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirementsMeasure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materialsBuild foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systemsFit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardwareSchedule and co-ordinate work on sitesSurvey building locations and levelsSupervise other workersOperate CADD and other computer software systemsMaintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments
