Position Summary

The Junior Accountant providesvarious typesof financial supportto York Realty and its partners. This individual works collaboratively with other team members and serves as a company representative when engaging with clients and other external stakeholders.Due to the nature of this role, the Junior Accountant mustpossessa high levelof adaptability as they provide services to different entities and departmentswithin ourGroup(e.g.,Construction, Property Management, Precast, etc.).

Key Responsibilities

Maintain a strong level of detail over day-to-day responsibilities

Managebank transactions and bank reconciliations for20+ bank accounts,20+ legal entitiesand variousdepartments, such as construction and development

Reconcile andcompany credit cardsand various Balance sheet GLs

Record and reconcile property taxes, insurance, andprepaidutilities monthly for 100+ properties

Preparemonthly balance sheetGLreconciliationsandassistwithyear-enddata preparationand documentation

Updateandmaintainaccounting databases as needed

Assistentities and departmentswith day-to-day accounting and ad hoc reconciliations asrequired

Prepare monthly accruals for York Realty, which includes review of unposted payables,POsand basic understanding of operational accruals at property level

Preparation and management of invoicing for monthly maintenance fees and property management fees for 100+ buildings

Supportwith GSTdatapreparations

Post mortgage related entries across the portfolio

Otherad hoc tasks as assignedbyAccounting Manager

What you bring to York

Education with a diploma or degree majoring in accounting

An analytical mind and enjoy working with numbers

Previousexperience in a similar role preferred

Previousexperience working in construction and/or property management preferred

Experience using Yardi preferred

Developed interpersonal skills: Ability to forge, grow andmaintainpositive relationships with multiple groups

Ability to remain objective andmaintaina factual perspective when dealing with questions and inquiries

Strong organizational and time management skills: Sense of urgency and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously capable of handling pressure and challenges in a dynamic business environment

Strong analytical skills: Critical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, and a high degree of accuracy with attention to detail

Strong communicationskills: Ability to deliver a message to a large group, ability to tailor communication to end users (management vs. other accountants) and medium (email vs.presentation)
