Responsibilities
PRIMARY PURPOSE
Provides administrative support to maintain employee record-related information and reporting. Applies policies, procedures and collective agreements in day-to-day transaction processing and administration. Maintains the relevant HR system modules, designs queries, prepares standard reports, and participates in system audits to support data integrity. Supports Employee Records Coordinator and Compensation Advisors as assigned.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Provides administrative support to maintain and generate compensation and employee record-related information and reporting, which involves transactions and updating records related to job evaluation finalization, salary administration, merit and market adjustment increases, calculations for seniority and service records, and employee change of status.
Ensures the accuracy of records processed in the system related to employees' seniority, service records, and union pay increases.
Actions all Employment Verification Letter requests by gathering appropriate data from Peoplesoft verifying information before signing letter. Responds to all verbal verification requests in a timely manner.
Applies policies, processes, and collective agreements, ensuring accuracy and compliance in the performance of administrative work.
Provides administrative support for the job evaluation program and all related processes and tools for exempt and union groups, including job finalization in HR Systems, storage, and distributions.
Maintains employee related records in HR systems, design of ad hoc queries, preparation of standard reports, systems security, and audit checks, and provides information and guidance to users of the system.
Provides administrative support in the performance management program for exempt employees and maintains all related records and correspondence.
Participates in projects and meetings as functional representative and in the implementation of new processes, procedures, and technologies.
Maintains relationships with others including employees, managers, union representatives and outside agencies.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
The requirements for this job would typically be acquired through a Certificate in Human Resources Management, and two years’ experience in Human Resources. Experience in a unionized environment is preferred but not essential.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Basic knowledge of the principles of Human Resources, with emphasis on compensation and workforce-related administration
Solid knowledge of the relevant policies and provisions of the collective agreements
Basic communication and interpersonal skills to explain compensation and workforce administration policies and procedures to others, and to exchange related information.
Basic organizational skills to ensure timely processing of transactions.
Basic analytical skills to accurately apply policies, procedures, and collective agreements.
Working knowledge of the relevant HR systems and modules to participate in system audits and create compensation-related reports.
Solid knowledge of standard office tools including word processing and spreadsheet software, together with knowledge of database fundamentals and use of HR systems
Experience with PeopleSoft is preferred.

Recruitment Process: An applicant will be required to demonstrate their suitability for this position by meeting the minimum level of qualifications and experience in order to be invited into the selection process. A standard interview format will be used including general, scenario and behavioural descriptive interview questions.
Work Schedule
37.5 hours per week.
This is a full-time temporary position for approximately 1 year.
Work Designation
Hybrid - This position offers the flexibility of working both on-site and remotely within B.C.
Rate of Pay
Salary: $59,200 - $88,800 per annum (Actual salary offered will be commensurate with education, experience and internal parity).
