POSITION SUMMARY

As aSoftware Developerin ourNorth American Driver and Vehicle Information Systems (DVIS)group, youwillplay a crucial role in the design, development and maintenanceofthe software applications that underpin our suite ofdriver and vehicle solutions for Canadian provinces and territories(AB, NWT, NT)and USstates(NY, WI, VA, NC). As part of a cross-functional team of Developers, Testers, and DBAs, you willwork on systems thatare part of our customer’s critical infrastructure and which ensure thesecuritytheir citizen’sidentity.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Software Development

Develop and maintain software applications, incorporating new features based on user feedback/needs and ensuring they integrate seamlessly with the existing application or legacy system
Write clean, efficient, and maintainable codethat follows CBN code standards and guidelinesand developautomated unitteststo validate the code and ensure it is performing as expected
Identify, troubleshoot and resolve software defects and performance issues in a timely manner

Collaboration and Communication

Work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Designers and otherdevelopment team membersto understandand definesystem requirements
Participate in regular code reviews to ensure code quality and share knowledge with team members
Create and maintain technical documentation to facilitate knowledge sharing

Continuous Learning and Improvement

Stay current with the latest industry trends, technologies and best practices to continuously improve your skills
Evaluate and recommend new tools or technologies that can enhance development processes or team productivity

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledgeand Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering(or similar program) or an equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience
Knowledge of the following:
- Object-oriented programming principles
- Three tier client-server architecture
- Agile (SCRUM) development methodology
- DevOps methodology, practices, and tools is an asset
Software development experience
- Targeting junior to intermediate level, but open to considering senior level as well
Experiencein a DevOps environment is an asset
