Job Description

This position is responsible for contributing to the coordinated efforts of preparing high-quality products for our retail stores. The performance of the duties must align with all Food Safety standards, and ensure a quality service approach to all customers, employees and suppliers. All responsibilities must be performed in a manner consistent with the Farm Boy Way.

Major Responsibilities:

Supervise the Department activity ensuring that goals are properly communicated and attained.
Oversee team members and provide direction and support.
Ensure that all products produced in the facility meet the standards for quality and portion size.
Assist, relieve, and train designated departmental personnel as requested by the Production Manager.
Ensure compliance to company policies and procedures including cleaning, sanitation, government regulation and food safety.
Ensure proper Health & Safety practices are adhered to for efficiency and work safety.
Create and encourage a team-oriented work environment.
Actively participate in the ongoing effort to improve business practices.
Practice proper care and maintenance of all equipment.
Recognize contributions by showing appreciation for individual excellence.
May be requested to undertake other related duties on a periodic basis.

Qualifications

Typically requires a minimum of 1 year of related experience in a production facility or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and time management skills.
High personal initiative and problem-solving ability.
Knowledge of basic computer skills.
Superior standards of sanitation, cleanliness and food safety.
Strong team-oriented approach to tasks.
Positive outlook with a history of proven dependability and commitment.
Willingness to strictly adhere to company policies and procedures.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule including afternoons, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Work & Sensory Environment:

Requirement to wear cumbersome protective clothing or equipment during shift.
Lack of control over pace due to multiple and/or tight deadlines beyond one’s control.
Ability to work in a cold environment (2 to 4 degrees Celsius).
May be required to lift, carry and/or handle heavy objects.
