Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and jointsApply, level and smooth coats of plasterCut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior cornersFabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilingsFill joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound using trowel and broad knifeFinish corners and angles and create decorative designs in finish coat, if requiredMeasure, cut, fit and install drywall sheetsMix plaster ingredients to desired consistencyPosition and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joistsSmooth out excess compound and allow coat to dryTape over joints using taping machine and embed tape in compoundInstall acoustic tile, hangers for suspended ceilings and metal studs for composition wallboard or lathInstall exterior and interior steel studsInstall metal stud framing and furring for interior drywall or plaster walls and ceilings, using hand and power toolsInstall vapour barriers and thermal and sound insulationPrepare wall and ceiling layoutsUtilize laser alignment systemWork at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages
