Blumara is growing. We’re a naval architecture & marine engineering firm working on real vessels—from new-build concepts to in-service sustainment. We’re hiring multiple Technologists and Engineers (junior to intermediate) across several tracks. If you like practical problems, ocean-tough design, and tight-knit teams, let’s talk.
What you’ll do (pick your track):
- Design & Analysis - hull/structure, systems layouts, 2D/3D modeling, drawings, stability/weight/performance calcs.
- Lifecycle / Sustainment - develop maintenance approaches, plan asset and spare parts support, track obsolescence, and help improve reliability and availability over the vessel lifecycle (no prior ILS specialty required).
- Ship Certification - prepare and support submissions for structures, stability & buoyancy, navigation & communications, and seamanship/safety equipment; coordinate with Class and regulators; evidence compliance, close findings, and maintain certificates etc.
- Project Delivery - reporting, configuration control, schedule/cost tracking, client presentations, and high-quality technical documentation.
Essentials:
- Diploma/degree in Naval Architecture, Mechanical, Electrical/Controls, Marine Systems, Industrial, or related.
- 0 to 8 years’ experience (co-op/internship counts).
- Comfort with some of: AutoCAD, Rhino/SolidWorks, GHS, basic scripting (e.g., MATLAB/Python), and/or asset/maintenance tools.
- Clear written & verbal communication; organized, curious, collaborative.
- Eligibility for Canadian government security clearance.
Desirables:
- Experience with Transport Canada, Classification Society rules (e.g., LR, DNV, ABS), or SOLAS/IMO codes.
