Tasks
Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costsRead blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirementsMeasure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materialsBuild foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systemsFit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardwareSchedule and co-ordinate work on sitesSupervise other workersMaintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments
Support for newcomers and refugees
Provides diversity and cross-cultural trainings to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and/or refugees
Support for youths
Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth
Support for Indigenous people
Provides cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers
Supports for visible minorities
Provides diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment for members of visible minorities
