Vevey Services Ltd. (business address 8020 Alpine Way, Whistler, BC, V8E 0G2) is seeking an experienced Building Maintenance Worker for our Whistler, BC operations. This is a full-time, permanent position, 30 40 hours per week, with a wage of 37.00 per hour depending on experience, plus 4% vacation pay.

• Job Duties:
Perform general facility and residential property maintenance, including painting, power washing, minor building envelope repairs, concrete repairs, caulking, and maintaining parking lots and sidewalks.
• Complete minor carpentry tasks such as installing or repairing doors, windows, baseboards, trim, and basic framing.
• Paint interior and exterior surfaces including walls, ceilings, fences, and decks.
• Install and repair various flooring types such as laminate, vinyl, tile, and hardwood.
• Conduct basic plumbing repairs including fixing leaks, replacing faucets, and installing sinks or toilets.
• Perform drywall installation and repairs including patching, taping, mudding, and sanding.
• Replace or install light fixtures, switches, and conduct other minor electrical tasks within permitted limits.
• Safely demolish outdated structures such as removing old cabinets, tile, or drywall in preparation for renovations.
• Respond to after-hours emergency maintenance issues as part of an on-call rotation.
• Travel between multiple properties, including cabins and remote-access locations, using a personal or company vehicle as required.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment and ensure safe disposal of materials.
• Work in outdoor, remote, or confined spaces in varying weather conditions, including cold, rain, and heavy snow.
• Perform physically demanding tasks including lifting 50 75 lbs, climbing ladders, repetitive lifting and bending.
Requirements:
• Completion of high school or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of direct experience as a Building Maintenance Worker, Handyman, or in a similar role.
• Valid BC Class 5 driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and participate in an on-call rotation.
• Must be able to reach designated work sites within 15 minutes at any time due to emergency response requirements.
• Ability to work in remote areas and in challenging weather conditions.
• Manual dexterity, strong troubleshooting skills, efficient use of hand and power tools.
• Must already have long-term accommodation arranged in Whistler due to on-call requirements.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, work independently and in a team, and stay organized.
Work Conditions:
• Frequent exposure to cold weather, heavy snow, rain, slippery surfaces, and remote locations.
• Irregular schedule including evening and weekend shifts when needed.
• Fast-paced and physically demanding environment with travel to multiple sites across the Whistler valley.
