Your Role in Supporting Our Members:
As a Senior Project Manager, you will concurrently manage several major facilities projects with an expected total annual capital spend of >$5m as well as ongoing smaller projects. You will partner with internal stakeholders, translating design drawings and construction technical details, to build effective spaces that serve members and elevate staff performance. You will also mentor other PMs as the subject matter expert on project management, design drawings, and construction management.
This is a Full-time, Permanent role based at Vancity head office and will report directly to the Senior Manager, Workplace Strategy and Capital Projects. While this position provides a hybrid work arrangement, you will be expected to be on-site for events and business demands
How You'll Make an Impact:
- Leading cross-functional teams (e.g. business leaders, subject matter experts, and/or third-party resources/vendors) through the end-to-end project delivery lifecycle to achieve business objectives
- Overseeing and managing the work of design, construction, and trade vendors
- Planning and delivering complex programs/projects within scope, budget, time and expected benefits while following the appropriate Vancity PMO methodology and guidelines
- Fostering relationships with Sponsor(s) and senior stakeholders to ensure business needs and initiative deliverables/outcomes are in alignment
- Proactively mitigating and escalating issues for joint resolution with REFP and Business stakeholders
- Presenting at the Steering Committee/to Senior Leadership and address expectations and concerns through clear communication and pro-active follow-ups
- Coaching, mentoring, motivating and supervising project team resources, influencing them and their teams to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
- Contributing to the improvement of project/program management best practices across the enterprise and help drive consistency, transparency and execution on projects
- Reviewing and interpreting lease agreements, tracking key dates, and ensuring timely renewals or terminations.
- Liaising with landlords, legal, and internal stakeholders to negotiate lease terms and support occupancy planning
- Maintaining lease documentation and supporting strategic decisions related to space utilization and portfolio optimization
What You’ll Bring to the Team:
- Undergraduate degree or diploma in Architecture, Engineering, Business, Construction, or Trades
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing large capital projects
- Experience managing CCDC contracts
- PMP and CMP certifications
- Strong people leadership skills to engage and support teams
- Advanced problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Excellent administration skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

What You’ll Earn:
This role offers a salary range of $81,200 to $122,000 per annum. The base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications, skills, previous experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package, employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program, subject to program eligibility requirements
