PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The purpose of this position is to support Tłı̨chǫ Community Builders and Tłı̨chǫ Property Management by ensuring the efficient and accurate management of construction materials, tools, and equipment. The Warehouse and Inventory Attendant plays a critical role in keeping projects running smoothly by maintaining an organized warehouse, supporting timely access to materials, and ensuring safe handling and storage practices.
SCOPE
Reporting to TCB’s Project Manager, this role is responsible for the full cycle of warehouse and inventory operations, including receiving, storing, tracking, and distributing materials to job sites across the Tłı̨chǫ region. The position supports multiple projects and field teams, requiring coordination with supervisors, project managers, and procurement staff. The incumbent works both in the warehouse environment and on project sites as needed, managing inventory systems, and maintaining compliance with safety procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Warehouse and Inventory Attendant manages inventory systems, performs material handling, verifies shipments, organizes the warehouse, and provides logistical support to field operations. The role ensures construction materials and tools are available, accounted for, and safely maintained to support ongoing projects.
1. Inventory Management
• Maintain accurate inventory records of construction materials, tools, and equipment.
• Ensure all items are properly labeled, stored, and organized for efficient access.
• Monitor stock levels and initiate orders to prevent shortages.
• Maintain tracking system to ensure materials, tools and equipment are properly signed out by authorized staff members, and returned.
2. Receiving & Shipment Verification
• Receive and unload incoming shipments of materials and supplies.
• Verify shipments against purchase orders to confirm accuracy, quality, and completeness.
• Inspect items for damage and record/report defective or missing materials.
• Maintain documentation for all received shipments.
3. Material Handling
• Safely load and unload construction materials, tools, and equipment.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and organization of all items in the warehouse.
• Prepare and package materials for transport to worksites.
4. Warehouse Maintenance & Organization
• Keep the warehouse and surrounding areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
• Ensure tools and equipment are stored securely and maintained in good condition.
• Conduct regular inspections to maintain safety and operational standards.
5. Support to Field Operations
• Provide logistical support by preparing and transporting materials to job sites.
• Ensure crews have required tools, equipment, and supplies as needed.
• Coordinate with supervisors, project managers, and the logistics team to meet operational timelines.
6. Safety & Compliance
• Follow all company safety protocols, guidelines, and procedures.
• Maintain safe working conditions and promptly report any hazards or incidents.
• Operate warehouse equipment in accordance with safety standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous warehouse or construction-related experience preferred.
Licenses & Technical Skills
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
• Ability to operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, telehandlers, pallet jacks, loaders) is an asset.
• Basic computer skills, including experience with inventory management systems.
Knowledge & Abilities
• Knowledge of construction materials, tools, and equipment is an asset.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to lift and move heavy materials (up to 50 lbs) and work in physically demanding conditions.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
• Reliability, dependability, and strong work ethic.
• Ability to speak and understand the Tłı̨chǫ language is an asset.
WORKING CONDITIONS
• Warehouse and yard environment with regular lifting, moving, and handling of materials.
• Occasional travel to job sites within the Tłı̨chǫ region.
• Exposure to varying weather conditions while loading/unloading or supporting field operations.
