SUMMARY
OF DUTIES
Under the general supervision of the Supervisor – Transit Scheduling, undertakes transit scheduling and runcutting related duties to provide transit service delivery.
GENERAL
DUTIES
Assists the Supervisor – Transit Scheduling and Project Managers with bus and operator scheduling, run-cutting, and database management, while adhering to the annual operating budget.
Assists in the creation, co-ordination, and adjustment of bus schedules for regular service as well as special event shuttles, including the annual Tiger-Cats shuttle program.
Assists in the creation, co-ordination, and maintenance of the software programming for the bus destination sign program.
Assists in the creation, co-ordination, and posting activities for regular and holiday board sign-ups.
Assists with surveys, passenger counts, data collection, data extraction, data analysis and data maintenance related to scheduling.
Prepares internal and external notices as it relates to scheduling and destination signs.
Liaises with internal and external partners, including HSR divisional sections, other Public Works divisions, and contracted vendors, on matters related to schedules.
Participates in and supports divisional Quality Management and Continuous Improvement initiatives as they relate to scheduling.
Perform such other duties from time to time, as may be assigned, which are directly related to the normal job function.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Recognized Technologist diploma in Transportation Engineering Technology from a Community College program, together with experience on computerized transit scheduling, data collection, data extraction, data analysis, data maintenance, field investigation and preparation of communication materials and documents, A combination of equivalent education and experience will be considered.

- Experience working with Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Proficient with word processing, data entry, data extraction, data analysis, data maintenance, manipulation of spreadsheets, including Excel Pivot Tables, with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to learn and become proficient in the use transit specific and associated software applications.
