As a member of Sanofi's Global AI Centre of Excellence in Toronto, you will be working on a team that is globally diverse, with members here in Toronto as well as across our global hubs in France, Spain and USA. You'll be engaged in a structured program that's focused on driving the growth of your technical knowledge and business acumen. Based on your skills and background, you'll be aligned to one of Sanofi's five core data and AI functions to deliver on meaningful strategic initiatives - whether that be in data science, data and business analysis, data and ML engineering, software engineering, or data and AI strategy. This approach ensures that you specialize in your area of interest, while being engaged as part of a larger cohort of colleagues to collectively build core skills in strategic problem solving, product design, agile ways of working, and leadership. Upon completion of the two years, you'll be provided the opportunity to a preferred position, responding to Sanofi's business needs.
As a data scientist within the Data and AI Future Catalyst Program you'll have the opportunity to work on projects within our industrial affairs team (focused on using AI for supply chain and manufacturing problems, Real World Data & Healthcare Intelligence team (focused on creating new real world data AI solutions), R&D (focused on using machine learning to propel data driven drug discovery) and commercial (focused on creating innovative AI products across our 100+ markets).

Main Responsibilities:
Apply advanced data science methods to extract insights from both text and table-based datasets, using techniques such as NLP, forecasting, and optimization.
Propose innovative approaches to problem-solving using Generative AI, Machine Learning, and other advanced analytical techniques.
Build models, algorithms, simulations, and experiments by writing highly optimized code and using state-of-the art machine learning technologies.
Work on full-spectrum of activities, from conducting ML experiments to delivering production-ready models.
Use data analysis, visualization, storytelling, and data technologies to scope, define and deliver AI-based data products.
Work with developers, engineers, and MLOps to deliver AI/ML solutions.
About You
Eligibility Requirements:
Must have participated in the Sanofi Digital Co-Op program at some point during 2024 or 2025 and be eligible for a May/June 2026 start date.
Must be legally authorized to work for Sanofi in Canada.
An undergraduate degree or higher in mathematics, computer science, engineering, physics, statistics, economics, operations research or a related quantitative disciplinw , with foundational business knowledge. Masters degree or above is preferred
Experience with any or all of: data storytelling, strategy planning, project management, agile ways of working, business analysis, data analysis, data visualization, executive reports.
Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to tell a meaningful and persuasive story through reporting.
Strong critical thinker with decision-making and judgement skills.
Demonstrated leadership potential (e.g. through Student Organizations, previous jobs, etc.).
Passion for life sciences and global healthcare.
Deep understanding of classical machine learning, GenAI techniques, and modern AI/ML frameworks and tools.
Expertise with core data science languages (such as Python, R, Scala ), and familiarity with different database systems (e.g. SQL, NoSQL)
Disciplined AI/ML development (CI/CD, Orchestration)
