Optical Transceiver Engineer
Overview:
We’re looking for an engineer with expertise in optical transceivers to support development and lifecycle activities for pluggable optics used in advanced networking platforms. This role combines hands-on lab work, supplier interaction, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver cutting-edge optical solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and qualify pluggable optics modules in the lab (optical/electrical performance testing).
- Create and maintain technical specifications aligned with industry standards.
- Collaborate with internal teams (hardware, software, FPGA, product verification) during integration and testing.
- Work with suppliers to introduce new modules and resolve technical issues.
- Support product lifecycle activities, including design changes, field failure investigations, and technical sales support.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or Physics.
- Experience with optical and electrical test methods and equipment.
- Hands-on experience with optical transceiver hardware and lab testing.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of fiber optic communications.
- Familiarity with software tools like MATLAB for simulation and test automation.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
Compensation:
$45/hr to $60/hr
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
