Sr. Storage Analyst
Contract: January 5, 2026 - December 31, 2026
Location: Hybrid, Calgary
Working Hours: 40 Hours / week, some planned after hours work required, but not on call.
Job Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced Enterprise Storage analyst to administer, implement key improvements, troubleshoot issues, and resolve incidents within their Data Center and Private Cloud environments. Playing a key role in change, incident, and release management for the storage and compute stacks, the analyst will maintain the stability and functionality of the systems supported
The client needs to augment the current Data Center Operations team with additional Storage expertise to help deliver 2026 objectives. With the existing team being operational in nature, projects take a lower priority and can be delayed when operational support issues take staff away from project work.
Responsibilities:
- Deploy synchronous storage replication between HPE Alletra arrays in geographically separated data centers for zero-data-loss protection on critical volumes.
- Enterprise SAN Fabric (Brocade) administration.
- Audit and validate all existing backup configurations against tier-based recovery requirements, ensuring alignment for RPO, RTO, and retention policies.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience managing: HPE Alletra storage arrays, Brocade Director Class switches, HPE Synergy Blade administration/storage management.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent combination of industry training and experience 10+ years of working experience within an Enterprise environment, supporting diverse IT Infrastructure platforms.
- Solid working experience with storage platforms, and excellent understanding of storage protocols including: iSCSI, Fibrechannel, FCoE and NFS/SMB
Nice to Have:
- Experience with VMware Cloud Foundations components such as vSphere, vCenter, NSX, vSAN, Aria suite
Soft Skills:
- Requires expert problem-solving skills and advanced interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficient in managing service components to ensure they meet business needs and performance target
- Incident and problem management skills
- Proficient in collaborating with others when necessary to review specifications and can use these agreed specifications to design, code, test and document programs or scripts of medium to high complexity, using the right standards and tools
- Broad understanding of information security, and can design solutions and services with security controls embedded, specifically engineered as mitigation against security threats as a core part of the solutions and services
- Expertise in reviewing the systems designs of others to ensure the selection of appropriate technology, efficient use of resources and integration of multiple systems and technology
- Excellent time management skills, ability to manage multiple items
- Willingness to learn related technology and business process
- Ability to determine root cause from outcomes
