About the Team
You’ll join the Control Assessment & Testing (CTL) group within Société Générale’s U.S. Compliance & RISQ functions. CTL operates as Second Line of Defense in a Three Lines of Defense model, performing risk-based independent testing of controls across business lines and support units (Compliance, IT, Operations, HR, Data Office, etc.). The team’s mission is to assess whether policies, procedures, and internal controls are well-designed and—through transaction testing—operating effectively to meet applicable Laws, Rules, and Regulations (LRR).
What You’ll Do
- Lead regulatory risk testing reviews (LRR): define scope, priorities, schedules, budget, and sampling strategies.
- Develop testing programs & scripts ; propose procedures and areas of focus based on process, risks, and controls.
- Execute testing independently: identify control deficiencies, analyze root causes, and recommend pragmatic remediation.
- Produce high-quality workpapers & reports: clear findings, executive summaries, and stakeholder-ready deliverables.
- Track remediation: validate completion of agreed action plans by due dates.
- Plan & improve: support the annual risk-based Testing Plan and contribute to continuous enhancement of CTL methods.
- Stakeholder engagement: act as primary point of contact for one business area; maintain regular, constructive dialogue.
What You Bring (Must-Haves)
- 4–10 years in financial services and 4–7 years in Internal/External Audit or Control Testing .
- Solid understanding of banking/brokerage products , operational processes, and LRR-focused testing .
- Ability to identify key risk areas , design effective testing approaches, and prioritize in a deadline-driven environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills; comfortable handling multiple concurrent reviews.
- Excellent communication (written/oral) across all levels; confident presenting testing scope, progress, and results.
- Independence & ownership: proactive, escalation-savvy, and open to new ideas/enhancements.
- English fluency required.
Nice to Have
- Experience in a regulatory compliance function within a corporate/investment bank.
- Working knowledge of audit principles and methodologies.
- Relevant certifications: CIA, CPA, CFA, FRM, Series 7 .
- French language skills.
