Job Title: Senior Enterprise Architect
Location: Edmonton, Alberta (Hybrid)

Project Overview
The organization is seeking a Senior Enterprise Architect to support and oversee a large-scale enterprise technology ecosystem. This role will be responsible for developing and maintaining a modern architecture vision that aligns with organizational objectives, while enabling scalable, secure, integrated operations across multiple systems and environments.
Role Summary
The Senior Enterprise Architect will:
- Assess the current-state enterprise technology environment
- Define target-state architecture and transformation models
- Create and maintain enterprise architecture frameworks
- Ensure architectural alignment across platforms, applications, data, security, and infrastructure
- Provide direction to technical teams and collaborate with senior stakeholders
- Establish architecture standards and governance processes
- Support strategic planning and technology decision-making
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and Maintain Enterprise Architecture (EA) Frameworks
- Align Technology with Business Strategy and enterprise goals
- Assess Current State Architecture and develop Target State Roadmaps
- Provide oversight for large-scale transformation initiatives
- Establish architectural standards, principles, and governance artifacts
- Evaluate and recommend technology platforms, frameworks, and tools
- Collaborate with stakeholders across IT, business, and operations
- Model Business Processes, Capabilities, and Systems Interactions
- Assist with risk assessment and security design planning
- Support Solution Architects and Technical Engineering Teams
- Manage platform standardization, cost optimization, and reduction of technical debt
Mandatory Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
- Minimum 8 years leading cross-functional teams, providing architectural direction, and mentoring technical staff
- At least 5 years of experience in architecting and maintaining complex technology platforms
- Minimum 8 years identifying and assessing requirements across architecture domains, including business, application, technology, data/information, security, and privacy
- Minimum 7 years documenting enterprise application architectures in large-scale IT environments
- Minimum 7 years of planning, designing, implementing, and supporting platform solutions in enterprise settings
- Minimum 8 years of experience in leadership, estimation, strategic presentation, and stakeholder communication
- At least 5 years collaborating with data architects, engineers, and analysts to design and optimize cloud-based architecture
- Minimum 5 years contributing to application architecture standards, guidelines, or governance artifacts
- Minimum 5 years designing or supporting solutions utilizing enterprise master data and data registry principles
- Minimum 5 years of experience working with web application security concepts (e.g., OWASP Top Ten)
- Minimum 5 years designing or supporting enterprise solutions for web, mobile, or distributed application environments
- Minimum 5 years developing or supporting enterprise-level analytics models or visualizations
Preferred Technical & Architectural Knowledge
- Experience with cloud ecosystems (Azure, AWS, GCP)
- Strong understanding of EA methodologies (TOGAF, Zachman, ArchiMate)
- Knowledge of data architecture, integration patterns, and API frameworks
- Familiarity with microservices, container orchestration, and CI/CD pipelines
- Understanding of privacy, identity, access management, and compliance frameworks
- Ability to translate business strategy into a technical roadmap
