About the Project
Cross Fraser Partnership (CFP) is a Bouygues Construction Canada Inc., Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas Canada Ltd., Pomerleau BC Inc., and Arcadis Canada Inc. general partnership that has been selected to collaboratively deliver a new, eight-lane immersed tube tunnel to replace the existing George Massey Tunnel on Highway 99. The new tunnel will feature three vehicle lanes and one dedicated transit lane in each direction, plus a separated active transportation corridor for cyclists and pedestrians.
Position Overview
The Assistant Superintendent assists with on-site coordination, safety compliance, scheduling, documentation, and quality control, helping ensure project milestones are met and work is completed to the highest standard.
Reports to: Superintendent
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Superintendent in leading Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) protection on the project; help enforce applicable OH&S acts, regulations, and codes.
- Assist in applying project-specific safety standards and promoting a proactive safety culture among all employees and trade partners.
- Help coordinate the delivery and compliance of project materials according to quality standards.
- Support the organization and identification of on-site manpower requirements.
- Take a hands-on approach to mentoring and supporting site crews.
- Help maintain effective collaboration with trade partners and consultants.
- Aid in developing, updating, and monitoring construction schedules to ensure project deadlines and milestones are achieved.
- Contribute to problem-solving and implementing innovative methods to enhance project effectiveness and efficiency.
- Assist with project start-up activities, including site logistics and initial scheduling.
- Participate in coordination meetings with clients and other stakeholders, representing the site team professionally.
- Ensure workforce training records are current and support ongoing training initiatives for site staff.
- Receive and verify delivered materials on site as per company policy.
- Assist in ensuring construction is completed according to approved plans, specifications, shop drawings, and building codes.
- Help maintain accurate construction site inventory and support logistics coordination.
- Organize and maintain project documentation.
- Take part in project wrap-up processes and celebrate project successes.
- Support training and awareness initiatives on environmental matters for workers and the project team.
Education and Qualifications
- Previous relevant experience within the civil construction industry; deep foundations and marine experience is an advantage
- Certificate, diploma, or degree in a construction-related field is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Understanding of construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, quality and cost control.
- Ability to identify and help solve problems and contribute to successful project outcomes.
- Interest in developing and maintaining construction schedules.
- Good computer skills, including proficiency with scheduling software.
- Familiarity with the local construction market and ability to work throughout the region.

The expected salary range for this opportunity is $110,000 – $140,000 . Please note that salaries may vary depending on the candidate’s experience and geographical location. Listed compensation is exclusive of bonus and in addition to our extensive employee benefits program, which is listed above. Availability of certain benefits may vary based on the specific job role.
