About the Project
Cross Fraser Partnership (CFP) is a Bouygues Construction Canada Inc., Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas Canada Ltd., Pomerleau BC Inc. and Arcadis Canada Inc. general partnership that has been selected to collaboratively deliver a new, eight-lane immersed tube tunnel that will replace the existing George Massey Tunnel on Highway 99. The new tunnel will have three vehicle lanes and one dedicated transit lane in each direction, with a separated active transportation corridor for cyclists and pedestrians.
Position Overview
The Superintendent works closely with project management, client groups, and subtrades to ensure project excellence through leadership, attention to detail, and commitment to quality, health, and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrate leadership in Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental Protection on the project; enforce applicable OH&S acts, regulations, and codes with employees and trade partners ensuring JHAs are properly done in coordination with all on-site activities and Working procedures (Method Statement) respected.
- Ensure project materials are supplied and comply with quality standards.
- Establish and identify on-site manpower requirements.
- Lead, mentor, and support the site team through hands-on management.
- Coordinate activities effectively in collaboration with trade partners and consultants.
- Develop and drive the construction schedule, ensuring completion dates and milestones are met. Report any deviation to management and participate to solutions/action plan implementation to face problems or unexpected situation and mitigate delays
- Solve problems and recommend innovative methods to increase effectiveness and efficiency maintaining H&S and quality standards.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager for all construction site start-up details, including scheduling for self-perform or subcontracted scopes.
- Represent the team on site in coordination meetings with clients and their representatives.
- Ensure workforce training is completed and up-to-date for site staff and appropriated to the tasks to be executed, with support of H&S and Quality department.
- Maintain construction site inventory with support from the Logistics department
- Organize and maintain all construction site documentation up to date.
- Participate in project wrap-up and celebrate success and completion with the extended project team including subcontractors.
- Educate and provide training with support of Environment department to workers and the Project Team.
Education and Qualifications
- Previous relevant experience within the civil construction industry; deep foundations and marine experience is an advantage
- Post-secondary certificate, diploma, or degree in a construction-related field.
- Proven record of project success and team collaboration – references appreciated.
- Strong knowledge of construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, quality, and cost awareness.
- Ability to identify problems, determine causes, but mainly produce solutions, and lead a large team to completion.
- Experience developing, maintaining, and executing project schedules.
- Good computer skills, with prior experience using document control, time sheets, scheduling software.
- Knowledge of the local market and ability to work throughout the region.

The expected salary range for this opportunity is $140,000 – $180,000 . Please note that salaries may vary depending on the candidate’s experience and geographical location. Listed compensation is exclusive of bonus and in addition to our extensive employee benefits program, which is listed above. Availability of certain benefits may vary based on the specific job role.
