Title: Structural Design Engineer
Location: Winnipeg
Salary: 100k+ (based on level of experience)
About the Role:
We've partnered with a great client in Winnipeg who is seeking an experienced Structural Design Engineer to join their dynamic consulting team. In this role, you will work on a variety of building-design projects, from residential and commercial to institutional structures. You'll be responsible for leading design efforts, managing projects, mentoring junior staff, and delivering technically sound, cost-effective solutions.
What You'll Do
- Lead structural design, analysis, and detailing for steel, concrete, wood, and masonry systems
- Manage projects from concept through construction, including scheduling, budgeting, and client coordination
- Mentor and guide junior and intermediate engineers and designers
- Perform structural modelling and calculations using industry-standard software (e.g., Revit, analysis tools)
- Ensure compliance with Canadian building codes and standards
- Provide structural engineering support during construction (shop drawing reviews, site inspections)
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams (architects, MEP) to deliver integrated and efficient designs
Who You Are
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or eligible in Manitoba
- 8+ years of experience in structural engineering design, with significant project management experience
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience mentoring staff
- Strong technical knowledge of structure design (steel, concrete, wood, masonry) and analysis techniques
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to deliver efficient, innovative solutions
- Proficient in structural modelling and analysis software (e.g., Revit, SAP2000, ETABS, or similar)
