About the Role
The Project Manager is responsible for leading and delivering the full end-to-end project management lifecycle, from initiation and planning through execution, governance, control, and close-out. This role focuses specifically on managing the successful transition and onboarding of a new Managed Security Services Provider (MSSP). It requires strong experience in security services, vendor management, and project delivery within complex IT environments. You will guide the planning, coordination, and implementation of cybersecurity service transitions, working closely with internal teams, external vendors, and business stakeholders to ensure readiness, alignment, and seamless adoption of new security operations capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Delivery
- Lead and facilitate the end-to-end planning and delivery of MSSP transition programs, including design sessions, testing, training, product demonstrations, communications, and solution adoption activities.
- Manage delivery and transition activities related to Security Operations Center (SOC) services, threat intelligence, incident response, and vulnerability management.
- Drive project execution by coordinating efforts across internal teams, vendor service groups, cybersecurity SMEs, and infrastructure partners.
Vendor Management & Transition Governance
- Track, manage, and coordinate all service transition activities to ensure a smooth and efficient onboarding of the new MSSP.
- Consolidate, manage, and validate transition documentation, including technical, process, and contractual materials.
- Oversee the onboarding of cybersecurity services to ensure contractual, operational, and technical requirements are met.
- Lead transition governance, escalating issues and managing risks throughout the onboarding phase.
- Partner closely with internal IT teams, the vendor’s Project Manager, and vendor SMEs to align transition timelines, priorities, and deliverables.
- Provide direction and set priorities for the Business Analyst to support transition activities.
- Monitor and audit contractual deliverables to confirm adherence to requirements and obligations following service onboarding.
- Review and validate service levels to ensure compliance with agreed-upon standards.
Note: This role focuses strictly on onboarding and transition activities. It does not include ongoing operational management of MSSP services.
Security Operations Readiness
- Collaborate with internal Cybersecurity teams and leadership to ensure alignment with cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST and CIS.
- Validate operational handover criteria—runbooks, escalation procedures, incident management workflows, reporting dashboards, and operational documentation.
- Support knowledge transfer and training to ensure SOC analysts are fully enabled prior to operational handover.
Risk, Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Work with the internal Cybersecurity team to identify and monitor security, operational, and business continuity risks throughout the transition lifecycle.
- Support compliance alignment with regulatory and organizational security requirements.
- Participate in service acceptance testing, operational readiness assessments, and post-transition maturity reviews.

- Minimum 5 years of progressive IT experience with broad knowledge across infrastructure and security domains.
- Strong understanding of MSSPs, SOC operations, SIEM, SOAR, and security monitoring services.
- Familiarity with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Skilled in executive-level reporting with the ability to communicate confidently up to C-Suite stakeholders.
