This is based in Montreal, QC, Canada (Hybrid) role and client is actively hiring for this position.
Fluency in both spoken and written French is mandatory.
Job Description –
The IT Control Testing Specialist plays a key role in assessing and validating the effectiveness of IT controls to ensure alignment with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. This position involves close collaboration with IT, risk, audit, and compliance teams to identify control weaknesses, evaluate associated risks, and support corrective action plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive IT control testing with a strong understanding of control environments.
- Plan, design, and execute testing procedures for IT general controls (ITGCs), application controls, and automated controls.
- Prepare detailed documentation of test plans, methodologies, evidence, and test results in adherence with audit and compliance standards.
- Identify control deficiencies, analyze their risk impact, and clearly communicate findings to relevant stakeholders.
- Partner with IT and business owners to support remediation activities and ensure timely closure of identified gaps.
- Track, monitor, and report the progress of remediation efforts and control enhancements.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in IT control testing, IT audit, risk management, or compliance functions.
- Strong knowledge of IT control and security frameworks such as COBIT, SOX, ISO 27001, and NIST.
- Excellent analytical, documentation, and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with audit/testing tools and platforms (e.g., GRC systems, Excel, audit management tools).
