Oracle Middleware Developer (WebLogic, OC4J)
Location: Toronto, ON, 5 days on site
Job Type: 3-months Contract with a strong possibility of extension, full-time hours
Hourly rate: $85-95/h inc
About the Opportunity
Help a large enterprise modernize critical Java applications by migrating from OC4J to Oracle WebLogic Server. You will work closely with application owners, DBAs, and infrastructure teams to ensure compatibility, performance, and maintainability in the new middleware environment.

Your Responsibilities
- You will analyze current OC4J deployments, then plan and execute the move to WebLogic.
- You will convert deployment descriptors, for example orion-web.xml and orion-ejb-jar.xml, to WebLogic equivalents.
- You will manage classloading, libraries, and XML parsers to eliminate conflicts.
- You will configure JDBC data sources, external files, and deployment plans in WebLogic.
- You will leverage SmartUpgrade, JDeveloper, WLST, and the Reconfiguration Wizard, followed by functional and performance validation.
Skills and Qualifications
- 5+ years of J2EE experience with OC4J and Oracle WebLogic Server in enterprise environments.
- Proven experience with XML configuration and deployment descriptors, plus Spring, Hibernate, and JAXB.
- Strong understanding of middleware concepts, JDBC, and enterprise integration patterns.
- Hands-on use of Oracle SmartUpgrade and JDeveloper, with WLST scripting and domain reconfiguration experience.
