Residential and Commercial Garage Door Installer (NOC 73200).
Job duties:
Installing and assembling commercial and residential garage doors, garage door operators, and the associated hardware.
Providing general maintenance services to ensure smooth and safe door operation such as lubricating components.
Installing weatherproofing seals including perimeter weather stripping and bottom door astragals for garage doors.
Assisting with picking up garage doors, garage door operators, and required materials and hardware from partner manufacturers, suppliers, and company offices or storage
facilities.
Delivering materials, hardware, equipment, and/or tools to job sites.
Removing and disposing of old garage doors, garage door operators, and affiliated hardware components.
Transporting old garage doors, openers, and hardware to recycling or disposal sites.
Installing Wi-Fi Gateways, MyQ Systems, cameras, and related components for garage doors and garage door operators.
Programming garage door remote transmitters, keypads, and Wi-Fi components.
Supporting the company’s owner as well as technicians and other company employees on various garage door installation projects.
Cleaning, restocking, and maintaining company vehicles and the company’s storage space.
Tracking inventory and restocking garage door related equipment, parts, tools and hardware.
Discussing garage door-related products with customers such as remote transmitters, keypads, and Wi-Fi systems during installation jobs.
Discussing and reviewing garage door safety instructions and maintenance tips with customers upon completing installations.
Terms of employment: Permanent and full-time.
The language of work: English.
Wage: $36.60 per hour.
Benefits:
Medical/dental coverage of $1000.00 available per calendar year once employment has surpassed the 90 day mandatory probationary period. This is not carried over from year to year.
Company vehicle for day to day operations. Allowed to take company vehicle home at the end of each day.

Required education:
Some secondary school (high school).
Required work experience and skills:
Must have a 6 - 12 months of experience working with commercial and
residential garage door systems; proof will be required.
Must have 6 - 12 months of experience working with hand and power tools,
including impact guns, drills, grinders, welders, hammers, screwdrivers, cable
cutters and crimpers, measuring tapes, levels, vice-grips, and sockets and ratchets.
Must have 6 -12 months of customer service experience.
Must have a general knowledge of torsion springs and IPPT calculations.
Must have experience handling cash and cheques.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Must be able to perform duties on ladders (extension and A-frame) up to 14 feet high.
Must have experience using various lifts for jobs that require working at heights.
Must have a valid Canadian driver’s license.
Must have a clean Canadian driver’s abstract.
Must have a clear and clean criminal record; a criminal records and background check will be conducted.
Must be organized, responsible, and tidy.
Must be a respectable and appropriate representative of the company.
Must have good attention to detail and be safety conscious.
Must provide references from prior employers.
Must be fluent in English.
Welding experience is considered an asset
