We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Intelligence Developer to support a range of data-driven initiatives. This role plays an essential part in enabling mission-critical decision-making within Capital Markets by transforming complex datasets into clear, actionable insights. You will work under the guidance of team leads and project managers, contributing to initiatives that strengthen reporting, enhance visibility, and support liquidity-focused outcomes that are central to strategy.
This position is well-suited for someone who enjoys solving analytical challenges, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and playing a meaningful role in high-visibility projects. Job Summary
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and maintain Business Intelligence solutions for Canadian Capital Markets projects.
- Work with large datasets (1 TB minimum, ideally 10+ TB) to ensure accuracy, performance, and reliability.
- Write and optimize advanced SQL queries to support reporting and analytics.
- Utilize SSIS to design and implement ETL processes for data integration.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure alignment with project goals.
Additional BI Responsibilities:
- Translate business needs into clear reporting requirements and ensure BI outputs meet stakeholder expectations.
- Support the development of dashboards, visualizations, and reporting assets that communicate trends and insights.
- Document data definitions, workflows, and reporting processes to maintain clarity and consistency.
- Monitor data quality and support governance efforts by identifying anomalies or gaps.
- Participate in agile ceremonies, including backlog refinement and sprint planning.
- Provide analytical support by helping partners interpret results, validate outputs, and understand business impacts.
- Contribute to team knowledge-sharing through best practices, peer review, and collaborative problem-solving.
- Support testing activities by validating data integrity and confirming reporting logic aligns with requirements.
- Engage with stakeholders regularly to gather feedback, understand evolving needs, and refine BI deliverables.
- Work closely with BI leadership, following established processes, standards, and defined delivery expectations.
- Execute assigned tasks within a structured workflow, consulting team leads when direction or clarification is required.
- Support broader team priorities by contributing to workstreams defined and coordinated by management.
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong proficiency in SQL with hands-on experience working with large datasets (1–10+ TB).
- Experience using SSIS to support ETL processes.
- Previous experience in Canadian Capital Markets; liquidity expertise is required.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
