6-Month Contract: Claims Examiner
Looking for a dynamic role where no two days are the same? We need Claims Examiners who can hit the ground running and make an immediate impact over the next 6 months.
Your Day-to-Day:
- Review and approve travel insurance claims—everything from medical emergencies to trip cancellations, lost baggage, dental, and vision
- Navigate different policy types and make sound decisions quickly
- Field calls and emails from members, providers, and partners—keeping everyone informed and satisfied
- Team up with colleagues across departments to keep things moving smoothly
- Keep detailed records and manage claim reserves accurately
- Jump into case discussions, file reviews, and handle appeals when they come up
- Stay compliant with PIPEDA and HIPAA—always
- Pitch in on team projects and help out your colleagues when needed
What We're Looking For:
- High school diploma or degree
- 2-3 years under your belt, processing travel or medical insurance claims
- Comfortable with numbers, problem-solving, and thinking on your feet
- Solid skills with Microsoft Office
- Great communicator—whether you're writing emails or on the phone
- Organized and able to juggle multiple priorities without breaking a sweat
- Ready to get your Alberta Adjuster License within the first month
Bonus Points If You Have:
- Experience with Snowbird or expat insurance
- Fluent in both English and French
- Time working for a TPA
- Familiarity with Canadian and US medical billing
- Dispute resolution chops
- Knowledge of the coordination of benefits or subrogation
