We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Business Analyst to join the Finance Transformation & Systems department of our reputable client.
This is a critical role focused on maintaining and enhancing the integrity of finance-related data. The successful candidate will leverage their deep expertise, particularly with the Chart of Accounts (COA) , to optimize standards, controls, and financial processes within a dynamic organizational environment.
What You'll Do: Core Responsibilities
As the bridge between Finance, Operations, and Technology, you will be instrumental in driving key initiatives:
- Project Execution: Plan, coordinate, and lead projects aligned with the client’s organizational requirements and change initiatives, ensuring successful and timely delivery.
- Requirements Management: Employ best practices (interviews, workshops) to effectively elicit, document, analyze, and validate comprehensive business requirements.
- Cross-Functional Liaison: Serve as a pivotal connection point among IT, end-users, and management, facilitating clear communication and shared understanding across all levels.
- Data Governance & Alignment: Drive functional alignment across diverse business units and support teams concerning finance data standards and control processes.
- Specification Development: Translate high-level business objectives and concepts into detailed, clear, and precise functional specifications.
- Quality & Change Support: Collaborate with Quality Assurance (QA) teams on test planning and execution. Proactively assess change impacts and develop effective communication strategies for stakeholders.
What You'll Bring: Must-Have Qualifications
- Active CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certification is required.
- Proven, hands-on experience with the design, maintenance, and optimization of the Chart of Accounts (COA).
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with proven ability to articulate complex financial and technical information clearly.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data validation techniques.
- Foundational knowledge of relational data concepts (e.g., tables, fields, primary/foreign keys, joins, and lookup/reference tables).
- Experience in the Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance industry is an asset.
