The Broadway Subway Project Corporation (BSPC)—a partnership between Acciona and Ghella—is delivering a 5.7 km extension of the Millennium Line from VCC–Clark to Broadway and Arbutus. Once complete, this project will enhance access to B.C.’s second-largest employment hub, world-class medical services, an emerging innovation corridor, and vibrant residential communities.
We are looking for a Draftsperson (AutoCAD) to play a key role in shaping how thousands of people move through one of Vancouver’s busiest corridors every day. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and want your work to have a visible, lasting impact on the city, this is your opportunity.
What You Will Do:
As part of our Traffic team, you will help develop clear, accurate, and safety-focused traffic control plans that keep construction moving and the city flowing. You will:
- Prepare traffic control plans under the guidance of the Traffic Manager, Senior Traffic Engineer, and Traffic Coordinator.
- Collaborate closely with station teams to understand upcoming construction activities and ensure plans are submitted on time to Ministry and City of Vancouver reviewers.
- Work with subcontractors to understand their needs and create traffic plans that support safe, efficient construction.
- Ensure traffic control plans meet the operational goals of each work activity.
- Coordinate with the Traffic Supervisor to ensure plans are properly implemented in the field.
- Respond to questions from provincial and municipal partners, transit agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Participate in on-site walk-throughs with Ministry and city representatives.
- Support the team with administrative tasks including meeting notes and monthly reporting.
- Assist in ordering traffic signage and control devices as required.
What You Bring:
- Minimum 3 years of AutoCAD experience ; advanced training is a strong asset.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work under tight, time-sensitive deadlines.
- Comfort working in a high-energy, fast-paced construction environment .
- Ability to join weekly 6 km site walks along the project corridor.
- Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management abilities.
- Strong communication skills—both written and verbal.
- A collaborative mindset with integrity, professionalism, and initiative.
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of BC MoTI drawing standards is an asset.
- Formal coursework or specialized training in AutoCAD’s advanced features and commands will be considered an asset.
