HR & Payroll Internship – Year 3 Students or Recent Graduates

About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented HR & Payroll Intern to join our growing HR team. This internship is ideal for Year 3 university students or recent graduates seeking hands-on experience across in HR/Payroll. Our Corporate office manages multiple sites across 4 countries: Canada, United States, Mexico, and the United Kingdom.
You will support the HR team with day-to-day operations while gaining exposure to international HR practices and multi-country payroll workflows. High-performing interns will be considered for a permanent HR & Payroll role.
Key Responsibilities
Human Resources Support
- Assist with day-to-day HR advisory tasks for managers and employees across multiple regions.
- Support the communication and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and initiatives.
- Assist with employee relations matters such as disciplinary, grievance, and performance management, ensuring compliance with country-specific employment legislation.
- Participate in recruitment activities including job postings, interview coordination, screening, and onboarding.
- Support HR projects, employee engagement initiatives, and organizational changes.
- Prepare employment letters, contract amendments, and other HR documentation.
- Manage onboarding and offboarding workflows, including IT ticket submissions.
Payroll Support
- Support the payroll cycle for Canada, US, and UK, including collecting, validating, and entering employee changes.
- Assist with processing new hires, terminations, promotions, and other payroll-impacting changes.
- Support with maintaining payroll documentation and support audits, compliance requirements, and reconciliations.
- Serve as a support contact for payroll-related questions from employees and internal stakeholders.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Thinks like an owner and is self-driven.
- Currently in Year 3 of a Bachelor’s program OR a recent graduate in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
- Eager to learn about HR and payroll operations .
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Able to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Comfortable working with HRIS/payroll systems, spreadsheets, and administrative tools.
- Interested in pursuing a career in HR, payroll, or both.
