Our client, a small to mid sized organization in the non-profit and social impact space, is seeking a confident and bilingual HR and Payroll Specialist to join their people-focused team. This is a role with meaningful impact, supporting staff across multiple provinces and contributing directly to a supportive, mission driven culture.
Reporting to an experienced HR Manager and working alongside a collaborative HR and Finance team, you’ll be the go-to expert for full cycle payroll, compliance, and day to day HR operations. This opportunity is perfect for someone who enjoys being trusted as the subject matter expert, thrives in dynamic environments, and values working with people across the organization.
What’s In It for You
You’ll join a workplace that values openness, collaboration, and balance. Their culture celebrates teamwork and supports growth, offering exposure to employee relations, benefits administration, systems work, and generalist functions.
Enjoy competitive compensation, employer-paid benefits, RRSP and TFSA options, generous sick and personal days, paid holiday closure, and a supportive HR leader who invests in mentorship and development.
Your Responsibilities
- You’ll lead the full cycle, multi provincial payroll process, ensuring accuracy for employees across QC, NS, ON, MB, BC and AB.
- In this role, you’ll oversee year end activities including T4s, RL 1s, remittances, reconciliations and responses to CRA and Revenu Québec inquiries.
- You’ll manage payroll in real time, maintaining data integrity, handling adjustments, deductions and benefits updates, and being the primary contact for staff inquiries.
- You’ll administer benefits programs, including enrollments, audits and updates, and prepare related reports.
- You’ll support generalist functions such as onboarding, offboarding, letters, LOA packages and HR data administration.
- You’ll help maintain and improve HR systems, including Dayforce configuration, documentation, and process enhancements.
Skills and Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of progressive payroll experience across Canadian jurisdictions, including Quebec.
- Strong bilingual communication skills in English and French, both written and spoken.
- Experience handling payroll in real time with high accuracy, confidentiality and professionalism.
- Demonstrated maturity and confidence when navigating sensitive or emotionally charged employee issues.
- Knowledge of benefits administration, HR documentation and generalist tasks.
- Experience with multi provincial legislation and payroll compliance.
- Dayforce experience and PCP certification are strong assets.
